Before You Book

What if my horse is nervous or spicy?

That’s far more common than people admit. We use the pre-session guide to plan for your horse's triggers, ensuring the environment stays calm and safe. Goofy behavior, antics, and unexpected moments often lead to the most honest images.

What's included in a session?

Every shoot includes a planning call, flexible timing to keep your horse relaxed, and a private gallery of screen resolution images with credit for high resolution prints. You can see the specific image counts and time for each package on Pricing & Packages.

How far do you travel?

Travel within 35 miles of Zip Code 60061 is included in your session fee. Beyond that, it’s a simple per-mile fee. I am also open to "barn photo days" where friends can split travel costs. Additionally, I make regular trips down to Lexington and would be thrilled to include your session.

What if the location requires a photo permit?

Typically, the client covers required permit fees. However, if you organize a group "photo day" with barn friends, those costs can be shared.

Session Details

Can I change outfits during the shoot?

Yes, as long as it fits within your session time. Quick changes (boots, jackets, helmets) are easy to swap between setups. Multiple full outfit changes take longer. If that's important to your vision, let me know when booking so we can plan accordingly.

Can my family or kids be included in photos?

Absolutely, and I love including family. Safety always comes first, I'll pause or adjust if anyone's at risk, but horses, kids, and unpredictable moments create some of the most meaningful images when handled thoughtfully.

Can we include other animals?

Yes, and honestly, I love this. Dogs, minis, mules, parrots, geckos, squirrels; if they're part of your horse's world, they're welcome in the frame. Just give me a heads-up so I can plan appropriately.

What should I expect from a session?

Sessions move at your horse's pace, not a rigid shot list or timer.

I arrive prepared (thanks to your pre-session questionnaire), work calmly, and adjust in real time to what your horse needs. The goal is natural images that feel like your horse, not forced poses.

After Your Session

When will I receive my photos?

Your private gallery will be ready for review and download within 3-4 weeks. You'll receive professionally edited, screen resolution images and a print credit for high resolution digital and/or print purchases.

What does "full print rights" mean?

It means you own the files for personal use. You can download them and post them anywhere. Your high-res images are compatible with any professional lab. The only restriction is commercial use (you can't sell the images or use them for advertising without permission).

Are print products available?

Yes! This is what your photo credit is for!
