WHEN YOU BOOK

What to Expect

So, what's next?

You've probably wondered: What if my horse doesn't cooperate? What if they're having an off day? What if the photographer gets frustrated?

Here's exactly what happens during a session, and why none of that is a problem.

STEP 01

After Booking

Once your session is officially on the calendar, keep an eye on your inbox for an email containing your Session Planning Guide. This is where you can tell me about your horse’s personality, sensitivities, and daily routines. By sharing these details ahead of time, we ensure that when I arrive at the barn, I already understand your horse's boundaries and can work in a way that feels safe and familiar to them.

STEP 02

Before I Arrive

After I’ve reviewed your guide, we’ll hop on a quick call to finalize any outstanding details. We’ll discuss your specific location, your creative vision, and any "must-have" moments you’re excited about. This is also the perfect time to flag any concerns or ask questions so you feel completely prepared before the camera ever comes out.

If something feels important to you, whether it’s a specific quirk, a behavioral boundary, or a sentimental hope for the session, tell me. My goal is to plan the entire experience around those needs so the session stays calm, productive, and focused on what matters most to you.

STEP 03

Picture Time

I'll probably arrive early while you're still getting ready. This is intentional and I don't mean to rush you. I want to see how you interact with your horse before I ever take my equipment out. I'll introduce myself to both of you, and we'll get to know one another. I might wander off to scout different locations.

Then, we'll shoot. I move slowly. I let your horse set the pace. We might spend twenty minutes just letting them get used to me before we start creating anything. Some of the best images happen when we're technically "doing nothing" just standing there, waiting, noticing.

I'm going to do everything I can to make whatever circumstance we're met with work. Weather shifts, behavior changes, unexpected moments, we adapt.

STEP 04

After the Session

Your images will be ready for review and download within 3-4 weeks.

You'll receive a private online gallery with professionally edited,  screen resolution images. Not a single generic pose, just your horse as they actually are. The quirks, the softness, the expressions you recognize immediately.

These are the images you'll want to frame, share, and return to when you need to remember exactly who they are.
